ABOUT – GMHS-40A
The School was established in 1982 as a Primary school. It was upgraded at the Middle level in 1995. In 1995, the school was upgraded to High School. In 2017, the school became Model High School. The school consists of a three-story building with 18 classrooms and 28 other rooms. Other rooms have been set up as Labs, Library, Office, Staff rooms, Sports room, Activity Room, etc. The school is situated in an urban area of the city.
The school is affiliated with C.B.S.E. and run by the Education Department of Chandigarh Administration. The school has 1 Pre-Primary, 6 Primary, and 22 Upper Primary teachers in the teaching faculty. The school has a Non-teaching staff consisting of a Clerk, Counselor, Sweeper, Mid Day Meal workers, Gatekeeper, Gardener, and sweeper-cum-Watchman.
The school has a big playground and a beautiful garden. It has an adequate water supply. All the classrooms have proper furniture and blackboards. The school provides mid-day meals to the students from classes I-VIII every day.
National festivals such as Independence Day, Republic Day, Flag Day, etc. are celebrated in the school. Morning assembly is commenced every day which includes Prayer, Moral talks, P.T. exercises, and News reading.
The students are examined by Doctors from Health Department every year. The students are provided various kinds of scholarships. The students are taken on educational trips for the enhancement of their knowledge. The students from classes I-VIII are provided Books and Uniforms every year. There is free education for the students up to class VIII.
Summer School Timing is 7:50 AM to 2:30 PM
Winter School Timing is 8:20 AM to 2:40 PM
